Dimwit is a bean who appears in the Dumb Ways to Die franchise. His appearances commonly involve him getting burnt after attempting to do his own electrical work.
About[]
Dimwit isn't the brightest bulb on the chandelier. He likes to think he's a bit of a handyman, but actually not that great. He's also colourblind. Not a fatal condition unless you're attempting any kind of electrical work around the house and can't tell the difference between the right wire and the wrong one.
Appearance[]

Dimwit is a picton-blue, oval-shaped bean with bear-like ears on his head, sometimes seen with a chin. He is shown to be green in some pieces of media.
After attempting to do his own electrical work, Dimwit was burnt to death due to the house bursting into flames, resulting in his body becoming charred.

In his line, (blue) Dimwit is seen inside his house. He turns on a light and then smiles, but since he failed the electrical work in his house, the house then bursts into an absurd amount of flames, burning him to death.
A charred and gray Dimwit appears in the chorus as a standard dancer, and is a group two character.

Dumb Ways to Die[]
Prior to update 1.6, Dimwit was only an unlockable character at the Train Station.
Dimwit can be unlocked for the player's Train Station at the score 3400 in older versions and at the total score of 2163200 in newer versions. In all versions, he is the 18th character to arrive at the train station, and in the newer version, he is the 102nd thing that can be unlocked.

After an update, Dimwit has his own minigame, in which the player has to join matching wires to each other. If all of the wires are matched correctly, Dimwit's house will have sparkling lights. If the wires are matched incorrectly, (Due to the incorrect color) or not enough wires are matched, Dimwit's house will catch fire.
- Wire Fire
Unlock at 423200 accumulated score
He has a new game where the player must rotate the wires to allow a connection. If they succeed, Dimwit will close the panel. If they fail, a fire will start in the basement.
- Nailed It
Unlocked by default for a limited time
Prior to the 2017 Halloween update, a new minigame consists of him knocking the nails on the plank, which serves as a barricade to his door from the zombies. Otherwise, the zombies will eat Dimwit, resulting in failure.
- Death The Halls
Unlock at 3200 accumulated score
One of Christmas minigames where him putting up Christmas lights that wrapping his own Christmas tree. The player must screw the light bulbs, so that he will have sparkling lights. If so, Dimwit will smile and brush his hands together. Otherwise, the light bulb, Christmas tree, wreath, and panel starts to burn, resulting in failure.
- Tilt to the center
Tilt to the center is the second Christmas minigames, featuring Dimwit where he puts up a Christmas tree but it starts to wobble, causing him to get worried. The player must tilt to get the tree secure and stable. If they don't, Dimwit will tries to push the tree up, but it falls and crushes him, resulting in a failure. If the player doesn't let Dimwit get crushed, Dimwit will happily decorate the Christmas tree, but the star becomes wonky, much to his shock.
Dumb Ways to Die 2: The Games[]
- Irish Polish
In his Saint Patrick’s minigame, the player needs to rub the gold coins to clean them. If the player is successful, Bonehead and Dimwit will dance and a rainbow will appear over the gold. Otherwise, a pot of gold will crush Dimwit.
- Lightbulb Blunder
In his ACMI minigame, the player needs to help him fix it together by connecting the wires. If all the wires are connected, the light bulb is fixed and Knucklehead appears as a security guard catching Dimwit. Otherwise, Dimwit will be electrocuted by the light bulb and turn gray like in the video, resulting the failure.
- There’s no emergency
In his ACMI minigame, the player must not touch the big red button. If the player doesn't do anything, Dimwit will deny himself and Phyllis tries to touch it. If the screen is tapped, Knucklehead as a guard, will call Dimwit on phone, making him embarrassed, resulting in failure.

He makes an appearence in “Want to watch an ad to claim this reward” speeches, but isn’t playable alongside Doomed, Ninny, and Bonehead.
